Live From Paste: Bahamas

Alfie Jurvanen, known by the stage name Bahamas, couldn’t have picked a less apt name to reflect his musical and personal background. Hailing from Toronto, the songwriter’s minimal, harmony-laden folk songs earned him praised on his 2009 album Pink Strat. Watch Bahamas’ Live From Paste session here.

In 2011, few bands have captured our attention more than Kopecky Family Band. The Nashville band wowed us back in March with a captivating performance at our Paste Party in Austin. We liked them so much that we invited the band of Kopeckys to our offices over the summer to do a Live From Paste session. Watch the group perform four songs here.

Live From Paste: Ivan & Alyosha

Video By Irina Dvalidze, Renée Reizman.Text By Max Blau. Audio by Chris Humphries

Ivan & Alyosha makes music perfect for a Sunday morning soundtrack. The folk-rock quartet combines impressive harmonies with a rich, easygoing sound that echoes in similar fashion to fellow Seattle natives The Head and The Heart. While originally scheduled for a Sunday morning session, we ended up filming and recording this one on a Monday morning—a decision that came as a pleasant surprise to those around the Pasteoffice who were both familiar and unfamiliar with the group.

Watch Ivan & Aloysha perform five songs, including their impressive single “Glorify” and several other tracks from their recently released Fathers Be Kind EP.

About The Fall Workshop by Irina Dvalidze

// New Blog //

Hey everyone,

I just started another blog that will be chronicling my research for Maxwell School’s history seminar. I am focusing on the Ice trade in Atlantic/Coastal America in 17-19th centuries, which is more interesting than it sounds. Promise. Be sure to give it a follow if you care to and feel free to hit me up in case you have some interesting leads that you think I should look into. http://liquidvapour.tumblr.com/
